CHINATOWN PORTRAITS
SELF-PORTRAITS
Let's be honest with ourselves. A lot of us are struggling during this Covid-19 period. We may feel isolated, terrified, lonely, scared for the future, and/or not know exactly how we feel. I want you to know ALL OF THESE FEELINGS ARE NORMAL. Let's acknowledge our feelings and even document them through journaling, collaging, or anything that works for you.
Let's have these uncomfortable conversations with others. I'm so sick of the bs!
The "How are you doing?",
"Good, you?"
"Good."
When we are exactly the opposite. Instead, let's be there for each other when we are all struggling.
Let's be real. Stop hiding behind all the fake smiles and influencer-like Instagram pics that masks who we really are and how we really feel. Even when we are surrounded by friends or family, we may not feel good inside. Sometimes we don't know the stem of our sadness or depression and that is okay. I think the most important part is to acknowledge our feelings, talk to loved ones about how you feel also about how they are feeling and what worries they have, and then try to take a little step towards ACTION. Not a giant leap for mankind. But a baby step. Like going on a walk each day or meditating for ten minutes when you wake or doing something that makes you happy each and every day. Take things day by day. We will get through this. Together. You are not alone.
Be real with others. Be real with yourself. Be real.
Need someone to talk to? DM me on IG @moviemakerbridge12 or send me an email: [email protected]
Sometimes it's easier to talk to strangers about what's really bothering us or even just to say hello when you feel lonely.
Much love,
Bridget
